We are having a few of our favorites back again for another wild summer. Meet some of our performers below.

Blue Shift

Blueshift consists of Jim Papp and Christy Vanden on vocals and guitars, Brittany Bowman on bass, and Oscar Robles Diaz on drum kit. Each a well-established presence in their own right in the Comox Valley’s music scene, their combined energy and musicianship packs a powerful punch. With a repertoire that is heavy on the blues yet also known to stray into the realms of Motown, Soul, R&B, and more, Blueshift delivers what your ears want to hear and your body wants to groove to.

Blue Tonic 

Blue Tonic is Ralph Barrat (Keyboard and vocals), John Hyde (bass), & Mike Berman (drums). We cover a wide variety of jazz styles as well as popular tunes done with our own eclectic pulse. Ralph is a very busy pianist/vocalist from the Comox Valley and plays up and down Vancouver Island, in Vancouver, on cruise ships and abroad, crooning Sinatra style with a 6 piece, or Nat King Cole style behind a piano. 


Coast to Coast

Coast to Coast is a trio is Lainie Laughlin, Corey Francis and Scott Lyle. Three different tastes in music mashed into an eclectic set of tunes honed with great enthusiasm after five years together.


Desmond Day Good News Music Collective

 The Good News Music Collective is a grassroots community of musicians that originates from the Comox Valley, BC Canada. Desmond Day is the imaginative force behind the movement, bringing many years of studio, touring and live performance experience to the table. The collective was formed during the lockdown months of Covid-19 on Vancouver Island with hopes that live music would return with an unstoppable force! Black Gold is Desmond Day’s most recent music release (Featuring Lonny Eagleton, Bassist of LA band, Black Veil Brides.) Black Gold was written and recorded on an acoustic guitar made from the salvaged floorboards of Jimi Hendrix’s family home in Seattle, courtesy of Reuben Forsland of Joi Guitars. The song features Hendrix inspired melodies, lyrics and overall feel of the music legend. Black Gold is sweeping across the airwaves, bringing hope and inspiration to people of all walks of life.  Daryll began his pursuit of musical enjoyment around 1983 when he was 13 years old. Initially, he focused on heavy metal and hard rock and by 16 was playing lead guitar in a metalica cover band. Over the years, Daryll has played with and opened for many musical greats such as Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Gaye Delorme, Johhny Vee, Jack Velker, Colin Lindin, David Gogo, etc..

Daryll loves the camaraderie that the stage forges among players, so when you see him play, he’s playing with his friends. Bluesy, funky, rocky, jazzy and the lines in between, all served up with a heaping helping of high-energy edgy attack and growly whisky-soaked cigar smokey vocals. Enjoy

Steve Elliott – Elvis Tribute

There will three performances by Steve Elliott, Tribute to Elvis.You can look forward to many gospel favourites and rock and roll songs made famous by Elvis Presley.

Steve has been a performer since 2000 and has won various Elvis contests throughout Canada, including the Grand Canadian Championship of the Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival 2004 in Penticton.

He travels now full time with his “Elvis Elite “show and his act has taken him throughout Canada and the USA. Expect a high energy tribute to the Century’s Most Celebrated and Loved…. Elvis Presley! Steve has the Young Elvis down to a tee, along with the hip swivels and classic duck walk that made Elvis so recognizable in the 50’s! Crooning through the Ballads and Rockabilly Hits, Steve is ready to shake!

Tammy Fassaert

Tammy Fassaert is a fine songwriter and compelling performer. Having gone well beyond her roots in traditional Bluegrass, Tammy is esteemed for her songwriting in contemporary folk and acoustic/roots circles as well, and has inspired many younger performers over the years.


She lights up the stage and draws in the audience with her powerful energy and humorous candor. Playing guitar since 8, Tammy adds texture and variety to her lively shows with versatile guitar accompaniment that is by turns rhythmic and punchy or melodic and pretty.


Tammy has a strong clear unadorned singing style: Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine comments on her musical depth “…she’s incorporated all manner of sophisticated and earthy American musical influences in her into her own superb vocal style.”



Fassaert has performed all over North America, Western Europe, and in Japan and Taiwan. After a 10-year hiatus, Tammy has been coaxed out of musical hibernation and is excited to be performing again.

Fassaert has recorded two critically-acclaimed solo albums, plus a third with Victoria-based trio Shearwater Bluegrass.

Tammylynn Filgate

Tammylynn Filgate fills the room with her awesome and soulful voice. Singing At age 6 with dad started playing guitar at 12, she started performing and writing songs at age 14. She performed at the semi-finals of the BC talent search 2016 and performed at the Cloverdale rodeo and the Vancouver Island Music Festival in previous years. Her influences are Patty Loveless, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, and Miranda Lambert.


Finlay, aged 14, has been playing guitar since he was 6. Mostly self-taught, he played in a youth band for a few years and also enjoys piano, alto sax and violin.

The Jagsters

The Jagsters are a distinct twist of R&B and psycho blues that’s all their own. Covers and originals, Jamie Morgan bass, lead vocals, Pete Swann Guitar, vocals, Keith Cyr on drums and percussion.

Alan Jossul

Born and raised in the Comox Valley, Alan has been teaching and playing guitar for most of his life. His influences have been guitar legends such as Don Ross, Leo Kottke and Lindsay Buckingham. He has also picked at the Banjo, the Bass and a few other instruments and managed to make a few of these stringed things sing.

Alan is educated in a wide variety of styles including jazz and bluegrass and is a regular in the music scene in Canada’s Cultural Capital (2009), the Comox Valley. When he isn’t teaching or out with his dogs, he is generally on a stage performing or in an audience appreciating and keeping the art of live performance alive and kicking.

Kevin Ogren – Magician

Kevin Ogren was born and raised on Vancouver Island. He is an elementary school teacher and has been performing the Myster-O Magic Show for more than 25 years. His magic shows combine classics of magic and humour to create an entertaining show for the whole family.

Sue Pyper

Sue Pyper is an award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter originally from London, UK. Her personal travels, both geographical and emotional, have inspired gentle, insightful, and heartfelt songs that look at life from all angles and visit themes of both hope and hardship.
Women of Substance Radio describes her music as “Heavily influenced by pioneering singer/songwriters of the 70s like John Denver, Jim Croce and Joni Mitchell, Sue Pyper’s music is rooted in timeless acoustic folk, and on par with current folk artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Griffin and Dar Williams.”


Chilean-born guitar virtuoso, Rodrigo Figuruera has impressed audiences with his outstanding ability to play different styles of music including Spanish, Latin, Brazilian, Blues, and North American.

Rumblejam Grooves

We, the Rumblejam Grooves, play a range of jazz, blues, and rock style tunes and our ages range from 14 to 16. Our group consists of drums, piano, bass, alto saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. Individually we have each been playing and trained with music for quite a while, but we are a newly formed band looking to gain some exposure and performance experience. We all share a deep love of playing jazz and have created a special bond through doing so, now we would absolutely love to share that connection with audiences!! Listed below are our members:

Sebastian Robles Servin

Originally from Mexico City, Sebastian Robles Servin is a guitarist currently based in the Comox Valley. Awarded ‘Best Guitarist’ at the 2022 Zattzoo Project’s Battle of the Bands in Port Alberni, his playing is inspired by legends such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Jimi Hendrix, and Archie Cruz.

Steve and Vivian Ruskin Duo

Steve and Vivian Ruskin, in their over 40 years as a duo, share a love for many genres and musical styles. They slide comfortably from ballads to blues, celtic to contemporary, rockabilly to reggae, originals and instrumentals and even a dash of Latin to add a bit of spice. They modify their song choices to fit the venue – large or small, upbeat or quiet. They make their home in the Comox Valley and enjoy performing at events such as Nautical Days in Comox, the Exhibition in Courtenay, garden parties and several Farmer’s Markets in the Comox Valley and beyond. With Keyboards, a mean harmonica, guitar and vocal harmonies, they make their music an always changing experience.

Nathan Senner

Nathan Senner is a Vancouver Island musician well known for his moving songs about life and the human condition. He has been writing for more than 30 years and has produced and recorded two original albums ‘Dance in the Moon’ and ‘Wings Of Change’. He is a welcomed performer at local music venues and festivals and was nominated for both ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Vocalist of the Year’ at the 2015 Vancouver Island Music Awards. 

“Senner’s music is thoughtful and bittersweet and the sincerity of his vocals and sensitive delivery make his music especially meaningful to hear.”


Tailgate Country Rock Band has performed at several festivals and venues throughout Vancouver Island. Tailgate has a fabulous lineup of experienced musicians who are passionate about performing country rock music. Kim Hepell is the lead vocalist delivering a sweet and powerful punch. On guitar, delivering the riffs and crunch are Bruce Nichols and Art Vipond. The powerhouse rhythm section is comprised of Mark Brodhagen on drums and Jocelyn Pelletier on bass. Tailgate hits the stage with a heel-toe-docie-doe and boot stompin’ dance time. It’s always a Tailgate party!


Tightrope is an electric tribute to the blues. Their energetic performances have been felt around Vancouver Island,performing at festivals local venues. Tightrope is comprised of Lorne Fugle on guitar, Dave Stevenson on Fender bass, and Greg Hill on drums.

Christy Vanden

Inspired by 10 years of travel to Baja, Mexico, and influenced by her West Coast surroundings in British Columbia, 28-year-old Comox Valley singer-songwriter Christy Vanden’s musical journey is always evolving!
She is known for touring with Canadian artists Brodie Dawson and Karen Lee Batten as their lead guitarist and for being part of the award-nominated female trio, She Could Be Trouble on Vancouver Island (also playing lead guitar and singing). She will be playing uplifting fingerstyle acoustic guitar melodies, and original compositions from her upcoming instrumental EP, “Unexpected Road” as well as a mix of folk, jazz, country and blues cover songs.

Wild Revival Band

What we have here is a band of troubadours wielding magical realism on the chariot of psychedelic folk rock; standing on rain-drenched bluffs above rising Anthropocene seas, howling to our feral family of creatures to come forth and give voice to this one polyphonic song of existence.

Judy and Bruce Wing – with Blaine Dunaway

Judy and Bruce Wing are an acoustic duo from the Comox Valley, joined by violinist Blaine Dunaway,  They have a complementing music style that is at times soothing and melodic,  percussive and edgy, that features award-winning songwriting and creative reinventions of some of their favourite cover songs with a quirky twist.  Their intertwining guitar parts and smooth vocals are an absolute listening pleasure. The music is eclectic, finding the grooves that range from jazzy, folksy, rootsy, and bluesy. Add in eclectic world music flavours of violinist Blaine Dunaway, and some refurbished oldies and every set brings an interesting mix of songs and eras. 

Zumba with Gloria!

Join Zumba instructor Gloria Grieve from the Comox Community Centre,  and the Zumba crew, at the main stage for a fun and easy community dance party!  Bring the family and get your groove on to some great music!
